BOSTON – Property and Portfolio Research (PPR), a provider of research advisory services, announced recently that it has been acquired by CoStar Group Inc., the leading provider of information/marketing services to the commercial real estate industry.
The transaction combines the largest commercial real estate database and data collection team with the industry’s best analytical team with a view toward developing new insights, products, and tools for firms in the commercial real estate market.
IRVINE, Calif. – RealtyTrac, an online marketplace for foreclosure properties, released its Midyear 2009 U.S. Foreclosure Market Report, which shows a total of 1,905,723 foreclosure filings – default notices, auction sale notices and bank repossessions – were reported on 1,528,364 U.S. properties in the first six months of 2009, a 9% increase in total properties from the previous six months and a nearly 15% increase in total properties from the first six months of 2008.
HERNDON, Va. – NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, recently announced that Highwoods Properties has been selected as the 2009 Developer of the Year.
Highwoods Properties is a publicly-held, fully-integrated self-administered real estate investment trust (REIT) founded in 1978 in Raleigh to develop, lease and manage its inaugural 122-acre Highwoods Office Center. In June 1994, the company began trading on the New York Stock Exchange under “HIW.”

ORLANDO – RaceTrac Petroleum Inc. continues its aggressive growth plans by launching a sale-leaseback program on a select portion of its retail fueling station/convenience store portfolio. RaceTrac has engaged CBRE as its exclusive capital markets advisor for this initiative.
In 2008, RaceTrac generated in excess of $7.5 billion in annual revenues through the operation of more than 530 retail gasoline convenience stores in 12 Southeastern states.
Deion Sanders, a Fort Myers native and retired NFL player, unloaded three buses of 58 kids ages 9 to 12 and numerous coaches and parents at about 10:30 a.m. in the Fleischmann parking lot.
