Teen charged with stealing rings after texting photos of them

A text photo of six rings sent to a girl whose family had reported the jewelry missing in September led to the arrest of the texter’s boyfriend. Corey Perry Williams, 17, who lives in the 19000 of block of South Ocala Road, Fort Myers, was charged Wednesday with grand theft. According to a Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.

Lee County tourism marketers want to see more visitors coming. They want them to stay longer. And they want them to spend more money. Visitation in August was once again up and down. There were 7 percent fewer tourists travelling to Lee County than August a year ago, but the number of visttors who actually rented a place to stay – those who paid the 5 percent bed tax – increased 31.4 percent.
