For the fourth straight year, an anonymous donor has dropped a $20 Liberty Eagle gold coin in one of The Salvation Army’s kettles. The perfectly preserved coin has a small label affixed to its case with these words carefully printed, “In memory of Mimi.”

Volunteer program nominations due Dec. 10
The 2010 “Diamond Volunteer Program” is calling for nominations. The program will honor the volunteers of three different nonprofit organizations involved in maintaining and improving the quality of life in the community through their volunteer efforts. Kelly E. Capolino, a Coldwell Banker real estate professionals, will present the program from January through March.
